Happy Anniversary, Anita
Published on November 28, 2006 By Buddah Moskowitz In Poetry
She drives me home
when the night is dark
and the highways are slick
and teeming with
indestructible teenage drivers

lately
I have become anxious
driving in the fast lane
or on overpasses
or at night

and I am embarrassed
that I must ask her
to take the wheel
because I was brought up
to be the man
who takes care of everything

so as I take my place
in the passenger seat
I thank God for
this wonderful woman
who has seen this weakness and
still has not found me wanting

as we glide through the night
I watch her
calm and confident as she
negotiates every curve
and smoothly applies the brakes

and I silently marvel
at how beautiful and perfect she is
and I become aware of
my immense gratitude
because this highway would be
a cold and scary place without her

so I sit back
and relax and exhale

finally allowing someone
to take care of me

completely trusting her
with my life

as she drives us home.

To relax and trust is one of the best signs of True Love isn't it Buddha?

Excellent as always.

This was lovely. You should write a book!

Oh yeah, you did! Everyone should buy your book. It would make an excellent Christmas present

You do have a way with words.

What a beautiful poem, Buddha. I too have found great comfort in being able to let someone else sit in the driver's seat.

Does your book have international distribution? Would it be available in Australia?
on Dec 06, 2006
Thanks Dynamaso

I don't know about the international distribution. My book's available at
www.amazon.com and www.lulu.com

just type in "I Hate Poetry" (in quotes) and see if they'll let you buy it. If they won't, maybe I could arrange something.

Thanks again for the warm greetings... Moskowitz
