I’m looking for
a slower and kinder
world

where little things
aren’t passed over
and cellphones don’t
buzz like horseflies

where kindness isn’t
an inconvenience
because there’s
never too much
of a hurry

I will savor that
spicy Thai chicken
and really try to
penetrate
the mystery of that sky
and how blue
can it really be

and money can’t
buy it
and it cannot be
possessed

just gently coaxed
from a grateful heart

it all goes by
so quickly
seemingly random

but there is a plan
at work here

in my stillness
I catch the song
that has played
in my ancient soul
forever

and going faster
and spending more
and harder orgasms
won’t make it
any clearer

slow it down

drink in this daylight
and feel every drop
as it glides
down your throat
and deep into your gut

and give thanks.

There is a fortune to be had for the one who can bottle peace of mind. In the meantime, I will take my solace in lines such as these.

Thanks

I was expecting to open a cliche blog about what someone's thankful for on this holiday season after clicking on this link, and was delighted to find you here. Your writings slow me down, make me think about my world. Tis a hard task. Trinitie
